Student of the Month
This SHO sponsored program recognizes outstanding high school performing arts students. SHO volunteers work with teachers and instructors to find deserving local students to receive this honored award. Students selected receive a small stipend to assist them in furthering their studies. They are are recognized in a SHOcase event. Award letters are sent to media outlets and school principals, and students receive $100 cash, two tickets to a performance at the Hult Center and their photo and biography featured in the SHO display case in the Hult Center lobby and the SHO website. Rachel Zmolek The members of SHO are pleased to announce Rachel Zmolek as the recipient of the April 2013 Perfoming Arts Student of the Month award. Rachel will be honored at the SHOcase performance on Thursday, April 18th, at 11:15 a.m. in the Hult Center Lobby.
Rachel is talented in all genres of comedy, tragedy, and musical theater. Her versatility is astounding. She is a skilled writer and producer, and excels in motivating those around her. She has been on the Honor Roll at Springfield High School each year she has attended. She is taking Advanced Placement classes and carries a 4.0 g.p.a. Rachel plans to attend Washington University in St. Louis, MO to attain a Medical Degree with Performing Arts as her minor.

Dashaun Vegas
He is currently a senior at North Eugene High School and has appeared in many productions, most notably, “Romeo and Juliet” and “Harvey.” He is a singer and actor. He will be attending a Fine Arts program, pursuing a degree in musical theater upon graduation. He has been honing his skills since middle school, and plans on becoming a professional actor. He is indeed a Renaissance man and enjoys reading, writing and cooking.

Natalie Krosner is a senior attending Thurston High School. She is a talented vocalist and is beginning piano studies as well. Natalie is planning to major in Music Education when she attends college next year. She is currently auditioning at several colleges including the University of Oregon.
Natalie is described by her music teacher as an industrious and energetic student. She has won many awards and has been selected for premier choirs throughout the Northwest and has toured many US cities as well as several countries in Europe.
SHO is proud to recognize Natalie Kronser for her dedication to the performing arts and her outstanding vocal abilities.

Mikaela Jaquette is home schooled and attends Willamette High School part time. She has had piano lessons since she was 8 years old with Melissa Thieme. She is also a singer and composer. Mikaela appeared in the Eugene Opera's production of Nixon in China and is an alternate for Dead Man Walking. After graduation Mikaela will be attending the University of Oregon to study piano and vocal performance.
